Just wondering if you broke it off with J last night and how it went!
<hugs>
Re: ***achase***
Thanks for checking in. I did break things off with him and it was really hard.
He came over around 8:30 and he knew that I wanted to talk about the doubts that I was having. He already had an idea of what was happening.
I basically told him that, even though it seemed strange to think about a potential for forever when you've only been dating six weeks, I have to look at those things because I have a little one and because J will eventually be moving. I told him that I know it probably seemed completely out of the blue, but I really got present to the way I was feeling this weekend and after I had the panic attack. I said that I knew something was not right AT ALL after that.
He said that he felt I was rushing into it and it was premature. I said that I understood why he'd think that, and I would probably feel the same. I said that I had too much respect for him as a person to make him sit on his thumbs while I tried to get "space" and sort through my feelings. I said I felt it was very important to communicate to him how I was feeling, as soon as I knew what I was feeling. He understood that.
In the end, he asked what I wanted. I said "I feel that I have to end this". It was very sad. He hung his head and rubbed his temples and said "well ok then". He stood up and got a few things he'd left at my house. I asked if it was ok to hug him and he said "of course, there's no hard feelings. It's been a pleasure". In his sexy southern accent. Then he walked out the door and said "good bye".
I got really sad afterwards but I reminded myself of why I was doing it and that I was just being honest with myself. I slept fine and I feel better about things today.
I am glad you're honest with yourself and to him.
HUGS to the both of you.
They see us rollin'...they be hatin'.
You seem to be handling it very well and things ended on good terms despite the heartbreak you both must be feeling. I think your time with him was a precious gift and a sign that things are definitely upwards and onwards for you.
Thank you, I agree completely.
I agree with this completely. It sounds like you met a wonderful man. Even though he was the right one for you, at least you had a great experience and know that they are still out there
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.
Thank you. That means a lot, especially from you because I really respect your opinion.
You're going to make me blush! Thank you.
