What is the most "exotic" Caribbean island?

Just in your opinion... In landscape and culture I guess... Or whatever exotic means to you!

Re: What is the most "exotic" Caribbean island?

  • In terms of untouched, I'd say Saba or Mustique. I'd also say St. Vincent and the Grenadines rank up there as well- not as touristy, a little removed, crystal blue water, nice beaches.

  • Depends on what you're looking for. I really find Cuba to be a totally different experience than anywhere else I've traveled, but I wouldn't really go there for rest & relaxation.

  • Anguilla is truly one of the most romantic places on earth.
  • St. Lucia, so lush & tropical and the Pitons make it extra exotic-y.

I haven't been yet, but it's so on the top of my list.

  • I second St. Vincent and the Grenadines and also Grenada.  Grenada and St. Vincent are very lush, with rainforests, waterfalls, towering mountains, and nice beaches.  My favorite island in the Grenadines I have visited was Bequia.  It had a lovely village, beautiful beaches and great views from the mountains. (although Bequia is not as lush as some of the other islands) Also the Tobago Cays (uninhabited islands that are part of a national park) are a great day trip from any of the above islands for stunning white sands beaches, great snorkeling and swimming with turtles.
  • I have not been there, but my in laws have been to many Caribbean islands and they always rave about Dominica.

  • to me exotic means having a very strong and unique identity as compared to other islands. i've only been to about 15 or so but the ones that fall into that category for me area grenada, curacao, st lucia, isla margarita venezuela and barbados.
