The x-ray last week was clear, was really thinking it was just severe tendonitis even though it still really hurts. Had a follow up appointment today with an ultrasound and there is a fracture. Its the bone on top of my foot kind of between my middle toe and 2nd toe. The outer two bones show fluid build up and are basically pissed off.
I'm out for at least 6 weeks and Ive accepted it. I've (kind of) gotten permission to swim. He didn't sound overjoyed to let me but I promised not to push it. I'm just going stir crazy since I can't work out, can't work and basically can't do anything.
Luckily I have a lot of sick hours in my bank since I rarely call in sick.
*Sigh* I did go to the movies yesterday and saw The Hunger Games. Something I've wanted to do but my schedule wouldn't allow.
Re: Definetely a Stress fracture... :(
So sorry. :-( I had a similar issue, in revers. Fractured fifth metatarsal, followed by severe tendonitis. It took six months for mine to clear up, and I was miserable. I did get to enjoy swimming, and I was actually fine to use the elliptical as well.
Good luck & I hope your recovery is super speedy!

Sorry.
I broke the base of my 5th and I thought I could swim but it made me curse (also had a foot sprain). I had better luck riding the exercise bike wearing my air cast. I also did lots of modified yoga/pilates and weight workouts.
I hope it heals quick!

Sorry!
I stress fractured my foot last year. It sucks!
I hope your recovery goes by quickly!
at my last race, i won a gift card to go run on an anti-gravity treadmill a few times. have you heard of these? i have not, but there are 3 locations around my area so it must not be uncommon! i really dont much about it other than that it's weightless. its probably not the cheapest thing to do regularly, but perhaps once a week? its not like triathlons are cheap either, lol.
sorry about your injury, i hope it feels better soon
