DH and I have had our eye on a house for the last 6 months. For part of that time, DH's job was in jeapordy (he's a teacher and budget cuts were tough), so we just had to be patient. Well, in the last 2 weeks we realized we were ready to move on it, and looked forward to possibly putting an offer in this week.
It sold over the weekend. ![]()
But there is a silver lining. We spent last night doing a lot of thinking and praying and even went and drove around the development that that house is in. There are still 6 awesome lots available in that development, and we've decided to build on one of them. We looked at our finances last night, and we have the money the builder asks for to hold a lot, and we're prepared to write them a check this week in order to move forward. We're meeting with the builder and our realtor tonight, and are beyond exctatic.
So, while we were a little disappointed about the other house, we're moving forward and excited for the future!

from what i usually see/hear about buying a house is that if for some reason things didn't work out, it's because it's not meant to be and there is something else coming up the road. I'm usually not an "everything happens for a reason" person, but in the realm of real estate, it has really helped me find some "zen".
