In news we knew was coming: Gingrich to end White House bid

BREAKING: Gingrich to end White House bid

Posted by
CNN Political Director Mark Preston

Washington (CNN) ? Newt Gingrich will officially end his bid for the Republican presidential nomination and formally express his support for Mitt Romney next week, two sources close to Gingrich tell CNN.

While details are still being worked out, Gingrich is likely to hold his final campaign event Tuesday in Washington, DC where he will make the announcement surrounded by his family and supporters.

  • My CW will be bummed. Too bad he's going to endorse Mittens though, although I hardly expected him to do differently.

    And then there were two...

Me, too.  It seems like the press quit covering him ages ago. With no one but Callista left to stoke his legendary ego, why would he continue?

Finally.  It's really time to hunker down people and focus energies on getting rid of Obama.

And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this Rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.

    That's what she said.

I think this is the only reason he's dropping out. No way would he drop out if he still had media coverage and was drawing crowds.

Same. He just fell off the face of the earth, it seemed.

Unfortunately, unless he can convince Romney to create one and Romney wins the election, we will definitely not be seeing child janitor armies in the US until at least 2016.

I felt this way every time NPR mentioned him.  Last night they had some clip as apparently there were 5 primaries yesterday.

It had me laughing all day yesterday whenever they mentioned Newt was making his last stand in Delaware.  Aside from the witch lady a couple years ago, our Republicans don't lean that far right.  They are solidly of the north east liberal school of Republicanism (at least the most populous county - and we only have three counties).
