Today is our NLT date--and no word on our household goods. Supposedly, the shipment hit the port ten days ago, or so, I think.
DH is going in on Friday to inquire, but I am curious what happens next. While I am not looking forward to unpacking, I want our stuff. I want our bed. I want LO's crib. I want to make our house a home.
Any insight? Especially with an OCONUS move? Thanks!
And DH ***just*** got word of his departure window. Eff. It's sooner than I expected. Eff, eff, eff, EFF! (Sorry, just had to get that out. He literally just read the email to me.)

Re: No HHG yet. Now what?
I have no advice either. Never had to deal with an OCONUS move or receiving HHG (we did a DITY last time). But, I hope it comes ASAP!
That's a huge bummer that his departure date is sooner than expected. Hopefully decorating and setting up and shopping for goodies to make the house homey while he is gone will help as a distraction!
Well I would think that they would contact you when your things arrive in order to arrange for delivery. Although I'd call them for an update just in case because of what happened to us last time. Pissants.
Ouchie sorry about the departure date. That must have been an unpleasant shock that you didn't need today.
Do you have your Government Bill of Lading (GBL) accessible? If the carrier does not deliver within the window listed on the GBL, you may be able to file an inconvenience claim. I haven't seen one in a super long time since everything is done through the carriers now, but it might be worth looking into.
Booo for quickly approaching windows.
We haven't done an OCONUS move, but on our last PCS (not the most recent one) our stuff got there 2 days after our NLT date. We called the company the day before the NLT day after our driver said he wasn't going to get there, and they sent us a check for $150 ($75 each day it was late).
When I just did this move my stuff got here on the NLT date, but the friend I moved with didn't get her stuff until a full week later. There was a huge snowstorm that shut down WA, and my stuff got out before that but hers didn't, so the company wasn't really taking responsibility since it was due to weather. She complained to them saying she has a 4 year old son and the 2 of them had been sleeping in an empty house and spending tons of money eating out because of it. So they offered to put her up in a hotel and cover meals, but she had to submit any receipts. She asked if they would instead pay for new cookware for her that she wanted, which was about $100, and they did.
So basically I would contact the company responsible for shipping and ask what they will do about it. If you don't have the info I would contact a housing office either where you are now or where you set your move up.
Blargh. All of that bites!
We've never had an issue with a HHG shipment, so I have no clue what to do if it's late... I hope you can get your stuff located and in your place soon!
Our NLT date was 6 weeks before our HHG got delivered from Egypt.
Not to be all pessimistic about it or anything.
I called TMO every.freaking.day. those six weeks. I don't think it helped.
