Re: IN Get Fit Challenge

  • Doing well this week. Not sure if I should have run this morning as my back is misbehaving but I did and it felt good while running at least.

QOTW: I have been loyal to Brooks adrenalines as they work well with my feet but my next pair might be something new. Otherwise for general running/gym clothes I'll get whatever is cheapest. I like to keep it simple, 3/4 or full length tights and a tank top, sometimes a zip up hoodie, a strong bra (need a new one - chafing on the ladies is not fun) and blister prevention socks.

  • I have been running 4 times last week, but am still eating a little bit too much or unhealthy.

My favorite shoes are Saucony and Asics and the rest I just buy on sale and where ever. I have tops and shorts from Old Navy and Champion, and tights from Adidas.

  • I've been doing a lot better.  I've started playing tennis and have lessons on Monday which makes me get out and run around.  It also makes me get down to the courts a few more times a week to play with H.  I've also been doing reformer pilates.  I'm finally starting to feel better.

QOTD: I usually wear Nike stuff because I love the way it fits me.  If there is another brand on sale I'll try it on though.  I do own some things that aren't Nike.

  • I've been doing pretty good workout wise but these stupid delicious puddings have been on sale (they're $$$ so I need to take advantage while I can) so my eating has been not so good.

QOTW: I stick to New Balance shoes and I will continue to.  Clothes I always get at TJ Maxx, which I can find for $8 per piece.

  • I worked out yesterday for almost an hour (34 minutes on Wii Fit and 20 minutes on my Couch25K) , the day before for half an hour. Today I'm achey, but I'm going to try to do a different kind of exercise for a while (debating between dance video or just dumbells on my arms since I want to let my legs rest).

QOTW: I am most swayed by cheapest. Last year I bought FILA toning shoes I found on sale at Kohls for $30 and I *love* them. But when I started the Couch to 5K, I was supposed to use running shoes (the toning shoes are walking shoes) but didn't have money to buy running shoes so I used them anyway.  About three or four weeks in, I ended up switching to my older shoes (sketchers, I think? I found them on sale for like $20 two or three years ago at Costco) which were more worn out but worked better.  Before I move to India, I think I may actually go to a shoe store and get my feet checked for all those important things runners want, and spend the normal amount on shoes... but we'll see. If we can afford it. But apparently you can't find great shoes in India for inexpensive (I have no idea why but Ryan and I have hashed it out and I can get the same shoes cheaper here that he wants, and he desperately wants me to buy him some shoes) so it may be worth getting them here.

"I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels." -Isaiah 61:10 NKJV
  • I worked out for the first time in weeks! Only 30 mins, but its a start :)

I have no brand loyalties, I buy what fits well and looks decent in relation to the price

  • I didn't realize we were talking about shoes. There is a specific type of Sauconys that I was fitted into. They're the only running shoes I will ever buy because they're the only ones I've tried that don't make my knees hurt. If they ever discontinue the line it will be a sad, sad day.
  • I've been doing ok but last weekend away I didn't do much at all.  It was quite wet out, in a small town and dh was playing loads of golf.  But I have cycled to work all week, even yesterday when it was so windy and wet I would have been excused by any right thinking person (esp as I had a hair appointment on the way home too!).  And I did my reformer pilates class last night too.

QOTW: I'm not brand loyal at all...

Lilypie Trying to Conceive 21 to 37 day cycle tickers
  • I went running on Tuesday and I'm taking the rest of the week off. May go for a hike on the weekend if I feel up to it.

QOTW: Since I just started running in September I haven't really bought any gear other than shoes (Adidas), so far they are great and would buy them again once this first pair wear out. For workout clothes I just buy what is cheapest except for a top that keeps you warm for doing sports in winter, that thing saved me!
