Link? Pictures?
I thought you hated owning your previous house?

It is made dramatically worse if you add in

Yeah, its a super exciting and scary thing! Good luck to you!!!
In my guest room I would like two pillows, a flat foam one and a lofty feather one. The size of the bed doesn't matter so much, but a down comforter is a must.
I like to get up around 8am and then have waffles for breakfast, but pancakes are also acceptable, depending on if you like making one more than the other.
I will have all of these things, except usually there are six or seven pillows because I'm an overambitious hostess.
I can show a picture of the most important room:
The outside isn't really anything special in pictures - what is special about this house is that it's across the street from a very large and very popular lake, so there are great water views and it's a beautiful little community. There is also a ROW to the water, so we can put our kayak and canoe in right there, plus a mooring ball is deeded in so we can anchor our boat right out front.
LOVE the kitchen!
I love that you have ROW to the water, too - how cool is that??? Do you know anyone who lives in the neighborhood?
No, we do not. It's actually a bit of a distance away from where we are now, which is my only major hesitation. But given what we've seen on the market here, we are not going to be able to afford a place this nice closer to "the city" that is still in a good school district.
Someone asked about me hating the other house...I only hated it once we had to start trying to sell it! One thing after another went wrong and it was like some depresso version of The Money Pit - we had to redo the roof and replace the hot water heater when the house had been on the market for 4 months and 9 months respectively. It took us 10 months to sell it, and that was a stressful time. The mortgage on this house, even at our walkaway number, would be significantly less than our last one and we are both making more money now, so hopefully the money anxiety will be much less too.
Yay!! Is it the one on your friend's street?! I want to hear more. Email me deets!
PS - It was good to see you last week. Thank you for helping me to wrangle my snotty little madman.
ETA: Now that I read the whole thread, I am able to guess which area, though there are two lakes I'm thinking of. Is it a big one, or a smaller one?
It's not that one..that one was...yikes a roo. Built in 1856 and I think the windows have been replaced once, lol. It did have a FIVE story barn that was out of control that was so so so so cool. But yeah, it was ON 115, just too busy of an area and at the top of our price range, so we wouldn't have been able to afford all the TLC it needed.
I'll email you the listing!
And yes it was SO FUN to see you and meet M & L. They are SO cute and sweet and I had the best time. Anytime you want to get together with them I'm in, and I won't even bring crazy kids along with me!
ETA: That's "on route 115" if that didn't make sense, ha
YAYHOOOOOO!!!
And that kitchen is a DREAM. OMG I could fit my studio in there.
I knew what you meant - and I wouldn't want to live ON 115 either. Gorgeous house. I am so excited for you guys. Are you ready for the rollercoaster all over again!?
Next time we meet up, it'll have to be on a day without gale force winds too. That was wild. Your mom was so great, it was really nice to meet her.
Ahhh thanks. I'm not sure if I'm ready!
That wind DID get crazy. My mom said the same thing about you, she actually said that your personality reminds her a lot of ESD's, which I obviously think is nice since ESD is like mah BFF.
Well I AM pretty awesome.
Good luck!!!
I will require my own room, if you insist on living SO far away!
But in all seriousness, that house looks fab and you are right about not being able to get that much house - let alone ROW to water - closer to the city!
Yay house!!!
sending you lots of house vibes!!!!
great kitchen
Thanks! I feel so much more at peace with this one than the last time we bought a house. If this deal doesn't work out, we'll know that we aren't meant to have this house and move on to find "our" house. Congrats on your purchase! It's nerve-wracking and exciting and crazy all at once. Good luck!
Your giraffe sig is hilarious, btw.
