School Staff Taunts Autistic Child (LIP)
Re: School Staff Taunts Autistic Child (LIP)
I haven't watched it yet because I'm at work and I feel it will get me so angry that I won't be able to focus. And considering my job, well that wouldn't be a good thing.
I just can't imagine someone doing this. It boggles my mind. It saddens me that people like this exist.
I just watched this. Who could be that hideous to a child? Especially a child that requires extra patience and attention.
I can't believe only ONE of them got fired. The article said the other aide/teacher got 'reassigned'. Gross.
This happened in a town about 10 miles from me. It's consider a pretty "prestigious" area to live and educate your children in. It goes to show you that no matter where you live or where you send your kids you need to remain as involved as possible because a-holes infiltrate wherever they can.
A lot of people in the town are up in arms because the other parties were just reassigned to another high school...there was no further repercussions and from the sound of the article I read the school board is done investigating this.
I say the parents should sue the school board and these teachers. I would even look into criminal charges of harassment and intimidation of someone with a disability.
I like having webcams at my dogs' daycare, so I think I'll do what I can to find schools that offer that feature for my children.
I posted my disgust about this on fb, but I didn't comment about the father. I really just commend him on his parenting and for knowing his child well enough to know something was off. A lot of times (I've been guilty of it too) parents just automatically believe the adult b/c you don't expect them to lie and behave this way. I just really applaud him and what he did/and is doing for his son.
For the life of me I just cannot figure out why people CHOOSE to be in these positions if they don't like this type of work. Something more definitely needs to be done, and bad teachers need to stop being protected by tenure!
So sad that they even have to go through this.
This makes me sad. I've worked with special needs children and while it can be hard, I just don't understand how people can act like this.
I signed the little petition thing he started that was linked to that page. I wonder if he really does reach all the 150k votes what will happen?
This is interesting. Let us know if they do any updates on your local news that are interesting.
my blood is boiling.
Throughout my life I've seen people treat special needs children pretty terribly,
and each time it makes me so incredibly furious.
All I can say is these people are lucky it wasn't my Mom they had to deal with,
All of them would be removing shoes from very deep body cavities.
