would this sink work in this bath?

DH is making me pick flooring already and we don't even have a set floorplan.  grrr...

So someone design my bathroom for me, because I have to do dishes and make dinner!  :)

I have this sink:

I like this, would this sink and it's toilet go with this look?

Or do you think I need some more darker finishes since the sink is dark?  I think I really like the basket weave tile.   I don't have a faucet, so I could change up the look a bit with that too.  Prefer Kohler (any ideas for which one?)

It will be off of the foyer, I think it (the foyer) will have dark wood or slate ish floors. Maybe wainscottg too.  Maybe just white walls, but don't think DH will like that.  Then comes the kitchen/living room which will have white and dark cabinetry, dark wood floors, light blue gray walls, white trim, lots of windows.  Windows will have white plantation shutters.  (exterior of the house will be cedar shake gray and white trim).

 ok, what would you do?

Re: would this sink work in this bath?

  • I think the sink is relatively neutral so it would pretty much go with anything other than something that is really ornate. I'm not sure about black and white basket weave with the brown cabinet, but it's probably fine. If you want to be sure stop by Lowes or HD and get a sample piece- you can always return it if you choose something else.
  • I like!

If you repeated the dark brown elsewhere in the space in an artwork frame, bathroom accessories (tissue holder, etc.), or even in towels, it would tie the darkness of the sink in a lot more.

  • I think they work great together. They have the same aesthetic and the colors are all relatively neutral. I actually like your sink in that bathroom a little better, bc it add's a bit of contemporary interest (with its modern lines and finishes) to the classic bathroom (with its neutral but traditional crown molding, tiled floor, etc.). I think they would compliment one another well.
