Hi All! I've been lurking here for a while, rarely posting. A little about me: I'm not much of a runner, but I do enjoy it every now and then. I play soccer twice a week and am doing NROLFW three times a week.
My question is in regard to nutrition post-workout. I've been getting some pain in my shoulders and a friend suggested taking a fish oil capsule post-workout might help a bit. I also am well aware that I need to seriously increase my protein intake immediately after working out. Any other suggestions or recommendations?
ETA: This is definitely not muscle pain/soreness. It feels bruised and tender, maybe from increasing the weight I'm doing?

Thanks!
I sort of feel like the pain might be inflammation, so I'm going to give the fish oil a try. I'll follow that recommended amount though and see where it gets me.
As far as protein goes, I doubt I'm lacking in it. I eat a fairly balanced diet. But I don't generally eat much after a workout, which I would guess influences my recovery. Does it not really matter what I eat after a workout so long as I get something in my system?
Maybe the RD on the board will chime in.If you are only exercising for an hour, you aren't depleting your body of nutrients.
Here is a decent article on it:
