Fellow Mommies, please recommend
Your strollers and car seat choices!
We did a travel system with IJC and I don't think I want to go that route this time. I am looking at possible just a convertible seat, baby wearing ( I didn't with IJC and really wish I had ) and a jogging stroller.
The jogging strollers seem to maneuver so well and just feel a lot better than the bulky travel systems. What brands do you recommend?
Re: Fellow Mommies, please recommend
Not a mommy but my good friend just bought this set.

It maneuvers really well and the handle is height adjustable. Which is really cool because she is 9 inches shorter than her H and both of them can push it comfortably, and I can too and I'm taller than her H.
We have the Baby Trend jogging stroller/travel system. Love the stroller! The wheels come off and the bottom basket is collapsible so it fits well in smaller truck spaces (I have a Civic and it fits in there no problem). I actually jog with it and it's smooth. The infant carrier was a bit heavier than some of the other models out there but chunker didn't stay in it long anyway...maybe 4 months. I think you can get just the stroller.
ETA: We have the exact one Afton just posted.
We are in love with our Britax B-Agile. Just go push it around the store and you'll see why! It's essentially the BJ City Mini (which I was sure I wanted) but you can use the 20% off coupon on Britax and not on Baby Jogger at BRU so the B-Agile ends up being cheaper.
We used a SnugRide and a Snap-n-Go when she was in the infant carrier but I think I'll get a Britax infant seat for #2 so I can use that B-Agile every day of my life.
I'm sure there are better strollers out there that cost more but we couldn't justify that b/c we're not hard core runners and we don't live in NYC and walk everywhere.
My main qualifications were full recline for sleep, easy maneuvering, and light light light weight. The Snap-n-Go is super light and the B-Agile is 16.5lbs. The B-Agile also has one-hand fold and a huge sun-blocking canopy.
Britax Frontier 85
Also, I wanted to add that Britax customer service is very helpful. If anything goes wrong with your product they'll send out replacement stuff and usually free of charge. I called today and they're sending me a replacement cover for the carseat bc the elastic loops have gotten weak so it pops off of the seat itself.
We have a Britax B-Ready stroller with the second seat attachment on the bottom. That thing is a DREAM. I really do love it, but I'm not sure it would be all that helpful in your situation.
We started out with a bucket seat with DD2 but quickly put her in the convertible seat because I wanted to sell the travel system I had. I always put her in the ring sling anyway.
Both of the girls have Britax seats. DD1 has a Marathon 70 and DD2 has an Advocate 70...the Advocate is HUGE but it's definitely safe.
We scored a great deal on the Advocate from the AAFEs website (it was more than 50% off!) so it might be worth checking out.
We have Safety First AirRide infant seats. I like them, but I'm going with the red/gray chicco next time. We have a city mini double. I like it, but if I could afford a BOB Dualie I'd prefer that. So I guess I recommend City Mini, but if you can swing a BOB go for it! We have MyRide 65 convertible seats. I like them a lot, but again, if $ was no object we'd have Britax.
We went straight to the convertible car seat. I have this one in my car:

I forget which one we have in H's car, but I don't like it as much as the one in my car.
I wore DS everywhere outside the car until he was big enough to sit in a shopping cart. Anywhere we go now that doesn't involve shopping carts I still wear him.
As far as the convertible goes I'd recommend going to BRU & testing a few out installed in your car. I don't know what you drive but some convertibles are too big to fit rear facing & reclined for a newborn. We've been switching back & forth between the bucket since about 2 months old.
I have a ring sling from Sleeping Baby Productions that I love & want an Ergo for Mother's Day.
