Adoption Update and BR question
DH and I graduate from adoption classes tonight! The 9 wks went by pretty fast to my surprise. We are looking to adopt a child under 18 mos, and possibly a sibling group up to age 5.
We have two more home visits before we are approved. I would like to buy some things for the room, but don't want to go all out. What are things you think may be must-haves that could be used for non-newborns?
I will obv get a crib and maybe a toddler bed. I already have a car seat and high chair, and baby gates and childproof stuff.
Any help is appreciated.

A book shelf and children's books. You can get the books pretty cheap at a thrift store.

That is awesome!! I ditto the suggestions of a convertible crib and book shelf with lots of books for various age groups. Some generic toys that would be good for both boys and girls:
- soft blocks
- balls
- toy chest
- bath toys, like the little squirty toys. Alex LOVES these, he has some little sea critters that Wyatt (Kristen) actually sent during our baby exchange and then he got some dinosaur ones for his birthday.
- shape sorting toys
- puzzles
- crayons, coloring/activity books, markers, etc.
That's all I can think of at the moment.
Congratulations! Nooner and I were just talking about how exciting this all is. I can't wait until you get your child(ren)!
Congrats !!!!
Ditto the books & convertible crib.
