Getting from Marco Polo to Venice
My travel books suggest several options for transportation from the airport to the city (train, fairy, etc). From your experiences, what should we do?
We will be arriving early afternoon next Saturday.
Re: Getting from Marco Polo to Venice
This. The Alilaguna is really the easiest. Water Taxi is the fastest but it is ridiculously expensive. You can take the bus, but once you get to the city you have to take a boat anyway (unless your hotel is right by Piazzale Roma, in which case, take the bus) - might as well just save yourself having to transfer to various types of transportation and take the boat in the first place. When you leave the airport, follow the signs and the walkway to the water taxis. The Alilaguna leaves from the same dock. Make sure you get on the right bus (check the sign to see which color bus takes you to the stop you want to go to). Have a seat and enjoy the ride
We did Alilaguna as well. It's pretty cheap, but takes quite a while. We only went to San Zaccaria and it was over 50 min. Still worth it, IMO because the water taxis are expensive.
they have fairys?! no way!! i thought they only had ferries
