Drug Store Foundation Recs?

I've been using Mary Kay foundation for forever now, but it seems to be doing a number on my skin lately.

I've noticed in the past few months that since I got off the pill, my skin is extra oily and breakout prone.... I feel like I'm in high school again. Mary Kay used to keep that all under control, but it doesn't seem to be doing the job anymore.

I wear foundation almost all the time, I had bad acne in high school and now cover up the scars with foundation and powder. I do wash it off before bed, but I'm breaking out a lot more than I normally do, espcially around my period.

I'm not sure what is causing it, but it seems that the days I am louging around the house, not wearing make up are the days where my skin behaves and doesn't get oily. That's why I've summed it up to my foundation....

What are you drug store foundation recommendations? I want to see if switching foundations will at least help my situation.

TIA!

Re: Drug Store Foundation Recs?

  • I ran out of my MAC and didn't feel like shelling out the cash for it so I got Revlon Photoready Foundation. It's lightweight, not greasy, has SPF 20 and the coverage is very buildable. When I don't need as much coverage I use one layer, but if I have some bad spots or blah skin I'll layer an extra bit on those spots and it blends very nicely.

  • I love Cover Girl's Trumatch.  It is the best I have found at matching my skintone. If I can't get my BB (pricey, so it is not something I get often), this is an option that I am satisfied with for the price.
  • Loreal True match is dead on exact color and a super blendable formula. BUT my dept store Armani practically glows!

My heart is as open as the sky.

  • Before I bought the bottle of high end (shiseido) foundation I'm using now, I was using Loreal True Match which is pretty good.

  • Since you're having acne problems, consider Neutrogena foundation.  They have different formulas, but I know they make one for acne-prone skin.
  • Neutragena Healthy Skin. I have oily, acne prone skin and so far it seems to help keep it under control.

  • Another for Neutrogena Healthy Skin. I'm acne prone and was using MAC studio finish concealer a lot, with a little MAC powder foundation. I switched the Neutrogena and get enough coverage that I've laid off the concealer and my skin has been a lot better.

  • Awesome!! I'll go to Target tomorrow and see what I can find.... Thanks all for the recs!!!
