I gave M several bags of Ghirardelli chocolates to take to work yesterday. He likes having candy at his desk, and they've recently banned having candy out like that at my office.
He just emailed and was like, I'm going to need to get more candy. I was like, how on Earth did you go through all that so fast?!
The take-your-kid-to-work day kids were doing a scavenger hunt, and since he couldn't help them with anything on the list he gave them all candy.
I find this adorable.

My random - I just had a meeting with 3 of the insurance companies that I review. This is the first time the have come to our department. There were 5 representatives and every single one of them gave me the up-down and the face that says "who the hell are you to tell us what we have to do...you look like my kids". I hate that look and it drives me crazy. None of them would look at me during the meeting and whenever I talked or asked questions they would respond to my boss and not me. Some days I wish I didn't look like I was 16. I still enjoy being carded though!
People tend to think I'm still in high school because I look so young. It used to bother me, but not too much anymore. My grandmother keeps telling me that I'll love looking younger than I am when I'm "older".
I get this all the time!
I used to be a front end manager at Target - at 21 - looking maybe 16. I got a lot of 'let me talk to your manager' luckily I knew my stuff so whenever I had to call the store manager they would back me. Still annoying.
Kate - too cute about the chocolate but why can't you have it out at work?
We can't have candy baskets out on our desks anymore because, as far as I can tell, the new CEO is batshitcrazy. He "doesn't like the atmosphere they create".
He's also turned the office into an art gallery. There are 9 new paintings/prints between my desk and the bathroom... which isn't really that far.
