So it looks like the move is going to happen now, which is both exciting and stressful. Does anybody *not* hate moving?
Anyway, does anyone have any tips on the best place to buy moving boxes? When we moved from ATL, we got a ton of used boxes cheap from a local company but I can't seem to find anything like that here.
I am kicking myself for not saving more of the boxes we used to move here. Sigh...
Re: NPCER: moving boxes?
we bought all of ours at Home Depot.
you can check with your grocery store and see if they are willing to save some for you.
In my past moves, I would hit up the grocery stores and liquor stores for their boxes - they would give them to me free. I would also ask my office for their empty Staples/printer paper boxes, also free.
I honestly have never bought boxes for any of my moves.
I've gotten boxes from my office, from liquor stores, and, in a moment of weakness, bought some from Staples.
You could check craigslist - I've seen people offering boxes for free/very low cost.
Costco has moving box kits for $50 with an assortment of boxes, markers, tape, etc
I've also bought similar kits from Overstock for about the same price, minus the tape, markers, etc

I always got most of my boxes for free at my local liquor stores. I actually stay away from grocery stores and dumpsters because I'd be afraid of bringing bugs in with the boxes. Liquor store boxes are good because they are generally smaller and can't get too heavy, even when filled with books.

Copy paper boxes from my office were really great to use.
Try Craig's list, grocery stores, furniture stores etc.
