Got the Keys & Moving In: Great 1st Time Experience

Thank you to all you ladies who have been so helpful over the past few months; this board has been full of great information every step of the way.

I officially closed on my house on Monday - yay!!  The sellers were there at my walk through in the afternoon and walked me around showing me the different systems, how things work, and extra little tidbits about the house.  Great people, it was their 1st house they bought 32 years ago and they were so excited to sell to a 1st time buyer; when my realtor said all was officially closed both parties started to cry haha.  They were still moving out but I gave me a copy of the keys since all was official; I helped them move a few things that were heavy and they kindly left some couches I'd inquired about, a bed frame, and a chair for me.  I told them to take that night and the next morning to finish moving if needed.

When I went to the house the next day after work it was completely spotless.  They had wiped every surface, and swept every square inch of the garage.  No cleaning required!  In the kitchen I found 2 bottles of wine, along with some cheese, crackers, and a congratulations card.

I feel so very lucky to have bought a house from such wonderful people. Though my boyfriend did know them growing up, I'm sure they would have done similarly for anyone.  The whole experience gives me the warm fuzzies and I'm glad it wasn't the stressful event I've heard from so many.  Now standing in my fairly empty house it's starting to sink in, and I'm so excited for the years ahead.

Just had to share :)
