**Actually, I have a more important question. All of H's vacation time for the year is alotted to other travel, so he can't take any time off for this. We wanted to go somewhere for the weekend, but I realized last night that the last plane out of KL and into PP is in the afternoon. We would have to take a super early flight Saturday morning and return late Sunday afternoon. Is PP worth going to for 24 hours? Or should we pick somewhere else and go to PP when we have a long weekend to play with?**
We're going for a weekend trip coinciding with our 5th anniversary. Does anyone have and restaurant or hotel recommendations? With regard to restaurants we're open to anything, but since it's our anniversary I'm looking for a nice hotel.
Also, any recs of things to do?

Ouch....24 hours of anywhere is tough. But you gotta see what you can with the vacation time you have.
My "favorite" (that's a hard word to use in this context) part of PP was the S21 prison, followed by the Killing Fields. Those alone would take 24 hours, but I would absolutely consider going and just doing those 2.
As for restaurants we were searching for this place (taken from Chowhound or some other food forum):
One place you won't find in any guide book is a whole cow bbq place. It's at the corner of 19th & 148th Streets in Phnom Penh, evening only, no sign in English, but you'll see the animals being cooked out front. They roast multiple steers outside and you order a plate of mixed cuts for either 15,000 or 21,000 riel ($3.75-$5.25), with various dipping sauces. I loved the place. It's very big, and was really crowded at 8:30PM, a real party atmosphere. Note that on the menu it's called "burnt beef." I was the only westerner in the place, and I found it earlier that day when I saw the whole steers being delivered.
I'm not entirely sure that's the place we actually found, but we found a place like this near that area. And it was awesome. Packed with locals, a big 'ol cow carcass roasting out front, cheap beer.
We had beef (with this dipping salt that very well might have just been salt, nothing else) and plain white rice, that's it. An awesome, highly recommended PP experience.
We were in PP for 24 hours and it was nice. There's a waterfront to walk along and some nice shops, restaurants, etc. there's also a nice park to walk around. The biggest touristy thing to do is see the killing fields/museum which can both be done in a day. There's not a lot that I feel we missed out on by only being there a day. I'd say go for it.
If you haven't been to Angkor and its something you want to do, you would definitely need a longer stay, but if you're just talking pp, go for it.
Here's another restaurant. It's pricey compared to what you can get elsewhere in Cambodia but it's worth it to support the cause.
ETA: Oops Maggie already covered this.
