Has no one ever thought Re: BC and sex drive
Has no one questioned that maybe BCPs and lack of sex drive could be part of the plan? I mean if you never want to have sex the chances of you getting pregnant go way down making the pill's effectiveness appear higher. Just a random thought for the morning. Carry on.
Re: Has no one ever thought Re: BC and sex drive
No, the sex drive is a side effect of the medication, not the reason it is successful.
BCP alter your hormones to prevent you from ovulating (by basically making your body think it's pregnant), therefore preventing the opportunity for you to get pregnant. Any time you take medicines that effect your hormones or have a hormonal imbalance, it can have an effect on your moods and emotions - therefore why some women have a lower sex drive because of it. I have taken progesterone pills (one of the key hormones typically in BCP) to treat my PCOS and also to help me get pregnant and they make me feel depressed.
