Philly Recs
Any recs for dinner? I'm in town for a conference at the convention center. I'd prefer it be in walking distance since I have no clue where I am going, lol. I asked the hotel and they gave me a bunch of chains like Chili's so I thought I'd see if anyone had local recomendations 
oh, and remember, I'm cheap.

Reading Terminal closes rather early, though I agree it is awesome.

Vietnam at 221 N. 11th.
Quick, reasonably priced and delicious.
Amada or Tinto, both by Jose Garces. Depending on how hungry you are, you could get out of there with spending only around $20 for food. I'm always full after two tapas. Also by Jose Garces and right next to Tinto is Village Whiskey. I haven't been to that one, but I've heard amazing things about the duck fat french fries.
RTM closes at 6pm but if you can get in there for lunch I highly recommend it.
Ditto Chinatown, and Vietnam Palace (Vietnam is across from Vietnam Palace and there is a longstanding local argument as to which is better) on North 11th. The short ribs are to die for and it's probably one of the best bargains in town.
13th Street south of Market is home to the Gayborhood and is full of restaurants (and fun shops if you need to bring a little something home for anyone), several of them BYOB - there is a liquor store on Chestnut Street between 13th and Broad St. (14th Street). Lolita's has great Mexican food. There is El Vez, Jamonera (excellent reviews), Barbuzzo, Sampan...
If you're in the mood for a good pub, Fergie's is on Sansom between 12th and 13th - they have an excellent selection of beers on tap, a good jukebox and rather good unfancy food. Fergie is a great guy, and he runs a great pub.
If you walk the other way up Sansom, there are more restaurants. There is also Good Dog on 15th, a bar with great food.
I am NOT full after two tapas, and Tinto's plates are small. Amada will be a longer walk than I think you are looking for. Village Whiskey has great "grown up" milkshakes.
