anyone take young child to the Caribbean?
how did they like it? we usually go to disney for our family vaca but we are thinking of taking our 5 yr old to the caribbean this year. Just wondering if there is usually enough for them to do. I am thinking he may really love snorkeling and of course the pool, he always does wherever we go.
not sure yet where we would go. we have a ton of marriott points we can use. looking at the virgin islands or the caymans.
another option is also a disney cruise.
thanks for any input!
Re: anyone take young child to the Caribbean?
just got back from a week in PR with a 4 year old and a 4 month old. the older boy has been to PR before, as well as Jamaica, St. Thomas (2x) and the Bahamas. Kids love to play in the sand and the water, and since I love the Caribbean, it was important for me that my kids love the water.
I've never been to the Caymans, but I've heard the beach is great for kids, very shallow and calm.
My main advice for traveling with kids is to go for convenience, even if it costs more. It is worth it in the end.
Enjoy.
