Cardigans and summer dresses
What type of cardigan looks good with summer dresses? I have some nicer ones for work, but anything sleeveless I prefer to wear with a cardigan in the professional environment.
I feel like most cardigans I see are too long, flowy, or whatever.
Help me!
Re: Cardigans and summer dresses
Maybe it's my old lady coming out, but I love the August Silk cardigan and shell sets from Macy's. They are a classic cardigan style, hold up nicely (don't get stretched out at the elbows) and aren't baggy. I wear the set and then separately all the time. They have lots of different colors in the store.
I've probably posted this 5 times, so I apologize for the redundancy, but I think these cardigans from Gap would work well, since they're more fitted and slightly cropped: http://rstyle.me/n/bvbcnse
urgh, I hate Gap. Their clothes are crap...and I love Target cardis, but not when they fall apart after a few washes.
I will keep an open mind and check all these out
The photo won't show up for some reason, but I'll take a closer look later. I love Macys...coupons galore
I have this cardigan in quite a few colors and I wear it over summer dresses a lot, it's a shorter length so it pairs well. The pics in the link show it over dresses.

I like Jcrew's "Jackie" cardigans or these Lands End Canvas ones. They're on sale for $20 each right now (they say $25 but it changes to $20 when you check out):

I have a few from ON that I really like.

They have several other options as well. I have the first in white, the second in oatmeal, and the third in black. I get a ton of use out of them, as I wear them with summer dresses and also with tanks that I wear with casual skirts and capris.
I prefer them to be cropped with a band right at my waist. That way it doesn't interfere with the way the skirt moves.

I like LE and LE Canvas cardigans. A big plus to me is if they do get funky after washing, they will take them back and refund your money, no questions asked.
I tend to wear stuff like this or: this
but in white/cream and usually shorter sleeves (i can't find a good online example). I like them because they cover well but are still breathable.
I agree with the one Jessicah posted, but I prefer a three quarter length sleeve. I bought a bunch from The Loft last spring in ever color. They're light, fitted, hit just above the hip and the sleeve comes just past the elbows.

I also love this style with dresses. I found some great ones by 'taylor' at The Rack in the clearance section last week.
