I just saw you guys got an offer on the house! That is fantastic - congratulations! Of course a 6 week closing timeline is stressful. Could you guys even rent or something for a month or two if needed until you find THE house you want? Take it from me, you don't want to rush it (although I'm sure you already know that).
Hopefully it won't come to that and you'll find your dream house tomorrow and things will work out! My fingers are crossed.
Re: **Beth**
Thank you!! Yes, we can definitely rent until we find something we LOVE. We're going to see houses this weekend but I really don't want to rush into something just because we're feeling rushed right now. And I think Jon's on the same page. Although we joked that we were going to put all our stuff in storage and have to live out of our cars near the Charles River..
Did you guys rush into a house? Or did you wait a long time to buy? (Did everything work out ok?)
It's great you guys are on the same page. This is all very exciting!
I don't think we rushed, but in hindsight I feel like I settled. It's not our forever house anyway (hopefully) but looking back at it, its just such an emotional process and I feel like I got a little clouded. But, for the most part I love our little house and it has all worked out.
I do have a friend though who was in a similar situation and rushed things and now they are regretting it big time, and so I take that as a cautionary tale going forward. We've never had to buy/sell at the same time, and I can only imagine how stressful it must be!
That's great Beth! We only looked a 6 houses before we bought ours. It was the 5th, and we'd both done enough research to know what was on the market and that this was the best fit for us. Hopefully, you'll have the same luck!
I worry about getting that clouded feeling too...I hope we can kind of avoid that (although I'll admit that I'd be more apt to succumb to it than Jon would).
Cautionary tale heeded! It is stressful, but I'm sure it will all work out in the end!

Oh wow, 6 houses! We went on a very scheduled spree of open houses 2 weeks ago and saw about 14. It was nuts. But, it gave us a better sense of the neighborhoods in the towns were interested in, so that was good.
I do hope we have that kind of luck tomorrow! Thanks!

Thanks!! It's a little less than we wanted for it, but we're getting the impression that we should take the offer and run since there seems to be a lack of interest.
I don't want to live in a van down by the river! I don't like to camp!!
