runners: what do you do w. your bibs?

do you save them? any fun ideas on what to do w/ them? thinking of getting a big frame and maybe putting a bunch in a frame and putting in our basement?

any other ideas?

Re: runners: what do you do w. your bibs?

  • They're in a stack on my desk.  I don't have any real plans, I just haven't thrown them away.

I would think a frame wouldn't be a sustainable plan, unless you only did that with bibs from really big races.  I mean, the pile's just going to keep growing, right?  I don't need the Road ID-ad covered bib from that random local 5k...

One of my friends has made coasters out of a couple bibs from particularly memorable races.

    image

  • I have a binder and I put them in those clear page protectors and put them in the binder. I also put print outs of good photos from the larger races and write the date and time on the back of the bib.

But I'm a big "memories" person, especially with running.

  • Mine are in a folder in my file cabinet. I write the time on the back.  There are also a couple still in my car.

I might use my marathon bib to make those tiles.

  • Mine are in a pile on the back corner of my desk.
  • I write on the back of each one the date, my finish time, distance, pace, my age group and place in AG & overall.  I plan to put them in an album but right now they are in a folder.

I have my "good" ones tucked away in random spots that I probably won't ever remember. Oops.

I've seen these on Etsy, and thought they seemed like a cool idea:

I made one of these but added hooks on the bottom for medals.  It's really easy to do.  They sell nice precut wood at craft store.  All you have to do is paint it and add the hooks.

  • Mine are all pinned to a bulletin board in one of our spare rooms.

  • I keep a scrapbook. Each page has a bib, the printout of my time/place, a medal if I got one, and pics.

My husband's mother saved every newspaper clipping about him, picture, award, etc, and I have none of that. So, I suppose I'm making up for lost memories ;). Slightly ridiculous.

My SIL gave me one of these for my birthday last year so all my bibs for big races are laid out here and my smaller ones are on a bulletin board, stacked, next to this. I have a wall of brag in the basement with all my & DH's race stuff. It looks nice and neat right now, but we have only been at this for about 2 years. I don't know how sustainable it will be.

  • Mine have been scrapbooked into a photo album with a race photo and note on date/time/place/etc next to them. It works pretty well for me, although I'm about a year behind at the moment...those bibs are just stuck to a bulletin board.

  • I don't know. I feel bad if I throw them away. I have already thrown away one that I walked last year.

What would be cool is to Hodge Podge it to a wall if you have ran that many runs.

Yeah, I would assume scrapbook it?

  • I scanned mine in and made a photo book out of them, along with a few pictures from each race, finish time and a short blurb about it
  • Mine are in our office, but I usually only keep the ones from big races.

My DH had all his marathon bibs (six) up in his classroom and they disappeared over the summer.  How do marathon bibs disappear from the wall?

  • I've only done three races, so they are hanging on the wall in my bedroom along with my medals. I live alone, and you can't see them unless you walk into my room, so it's my personal motivation to go out and run. Ill switch it up when I get more.

  • I trash mine, but save the safety pins.
  • I just have mine stacked in a drawer. I write my info on the back, just my time and place. I do plan on making a scrapbook.

Sadly, there's no recycling in my part of town. It's pretty crazy.

    Lol

Wth Cali! I'm just like you though. I throw mine away and reuse those pins.

  • I scrapbooked all of my bibs. I included the bibs, timing bands, race photos, race time, date, etc. now that I can no longer run, my book is pretty special to me.
