Lower calorie coffee creamer alternative?

I like about 5 tbsp of flavored creamer in my coffee.... At about 25 cal per tbsp, its killing my calories! I drink about 3 cups of regular or decaf a day. What do you guys like in your coffee?

Re: Lower calorie coffee creamer alternative?

  • Chocolate almond milk might be a good alternative if you are using over 1/4 cup of creamer in your coffee.  That's a lot!
  • I do soy milk or chocolate hemp milk.
  • I use skim milk at home, dehydrated milk at work so I can keep it in my cupboard.
  • If you can't completely give up the sweetness of the creamer, could you try 1 Tbsp of creamer and the rest skim milk?

  • That used to be me (insert ashamed face here). I had no idea I was using that much, and when I started WW I was appalled that I was wasting so many points of creamer! I started slowly adding less and less and started enjoying the taste of the coffee itself. And using flavored coffee (hazelnut or vanilla, etc). Now I drink it black (usually unflavored). It I want a little sweetness, I'll use a bit of soy milk and/or a tiny bit of pure vanilla extract. If I get coffee out, I'll use a little bit of non-fat milk, and my local coffee place has cocoa powder, so I may use a little bit of that.

  • I also enjoy flavored creamer, but I switched to fat free half-n-half with then adding only a splash of flavored creamer. Eventually I went to skim milk with a splash of either ff half n half or the flavored stuff.

That chocolate milk sounds delicious, I might have to try that.

  • I used to like a little coffee with my cream and sugar too. Probably as much half and half as you're using and a few heaping tsp of sugar. I gradually cut back to a tbsp of half and half and a level tsp of sugar. And now I'm working on trying coffee and milk (maybe 1% or skim) and no sugar. I do drink less coffee now because I don't like the taste as much. But I've totally adjusted and drink more water.

  • I've used chocolate milk before, and it's not bad.

    But I can't really imagine 5 tbsp.  I use 1-2.

  • It took some time but I weaned myself off a ton of sweetened creamer.  I just use about 1 T or so of the new Coffeemate one that is supposedly all natural and no extra sugar.

Omg I know, right? It's a ton... I do use a giant cup though. Thanks for the recs ladies... I'll try to do half creamer/ half milk till my creamer is gone, then try chocolate almond milk I think!
