I don't know what we can't get cos I don't know what's normal/used in the US ... But I do know that Baby Gap is quite expensive here. And we don't have Old Navy... I love baby gap clothes for my little girl but I can't justify the cost so she still only has the one outfit that was a gift!
Thats probably not a whole lot of use to you, sorry... Maybe ask her if there's something she's missing out on?
Actually, I prefer muslins. I LOVE them. But then I used cloth diapers as diapers
One thing that I really prefer in the US to here are fleecey sleep suits. Carters ones are much cuter and more affordable than anything I've found in the UK. So my mom still brings or sends them.

I was also thinking a swaddle me and the zipper sleepers because who ever invented the button ones is evil. Trying to button those things while a 9 month old rolls around is near impossible.
