I'm working through the story, but not really seeing the draw. I'm in Ravenclaw. ChaserDawn8155. I might using it a launching point for a House Cup contest at the next convention. Beyond that....meh.

Re: Anyone on Pottermore?
I've been messing around, but am in Hufflepuff.
It's also not as cool as I thought it would be. Hopefully all the extra info will just be in the encyclopedia Rowling is working on so I don't have to go through all 7 books.
The potions making is a good time killer at work.

Same here.
I am on! I am in Gryffindor (not really what I wanted, but...). I'm SilverYew7024 (I think).
Anyway, I like it. I love all the extra info. I loved getting my wand and getting sorted. The potion making and dueling is fun when I have some time to kill.

I was a beta tester. And yeah, once you make it through the book, there's not a lot to it. I was kinda hoping for more. I haven't been back in since I finished book one last fall. I think maybe it's more for kids - who want to take the time dueling and brewing potions.
I do like addition of some of the back story though. But I'm a big Potter geek so...

Yes me! Can I add you guys? I am MoonMahogany31423
Also a Hufflepuff
I think the 'point', if it can be said to have one other than ebook sales, is to present some background trivia in a fun way and create some friendly competition for the house cup. I find myself more intrigued by the technicalities (like the 'measurements' info), and Prof. McGonagall's history. I'm still practicing spells and potions, I don't feel like I'm particularly good at it.
Kids who are just picking up the series now don't have the benefit of the hype that surrounded midnight book releases and movie premieres. Keeping the fan base engaged as a community is always a big issue in fandom, whether it's HP, DW, Trek, or anything else. It handles it nicely, IMO. You know, if you're 10. So when I say I don't see the draw, I guess I mean for the older reader.
Although I did delete my first account because I didn't want to be a Hufflepuff. I was at least invested enough to meta-game a website for children.
I'm a Hufflepuff, my name is SnitchNox29864. I was so excited to get my wand and get in a house, but I was kind of bummed I got Hufflepuff. I want to know what house my husband will be in, but he refuses to move forward until he's read every article. He might find out some time next year.
I hate that the potions take so long. I don't know if it's my laptop's mouse, but when I try to make most of the potions, it's difficult to control some of the amounts, and something always ends up falling out and into the wrong container. . . or I'm trying to pick the wand up while the clock runs down and I'm clicking it a million times. I've only successfully made one potion.
Is dueling fun?
I know! WTH has 45+ minutes for this. And that was with a copper cauldron.
see, this is why I want to do potions, but I don't. That's just too long to wait...
