I have at least 10,000 browser tabs open

and one of them, somewhere, started playing music. A lovely piano-only instrumental, if you're curious. I am closing tabs like a madperson and yet it continues. Actually, I think it the song just re-started, so clearly it intends to loop all night. Websites should just NEVER make noise without my explicit permission.

Re: I have at least 10,000 browser tabs open

  • I HATE it when websites have automatic music. I usually spazz and close the tab as a reflex.

  • Is it bad if I just mute the speakers when I decide to go to bed and hunt down the offending tab tomorrow?
  • this happens to me so much. and i realised that on my husbands computer he gets the occasional pop-up from this one game site the e likes to play on. so i was checking all my tabs and then noticed there was a whole new firefox thing at the bottom and it was in there.

  • I hate that too!  Photobucket plays videos during uploads. I'm always frantically turning the sound down on my computer.
  • DH will use my laptop and leave 50 billion tabs open.  Drives me f*cking nutso.  Can't you just close it when you're done?  Hate.

That said, I have 4 tabs open at the moment, though none are playing music.

    Shot first, questions later.
  • I can open a dozen tabs in under a minute and "need" them open for WEEKS. Closing them would mean losing the train of thought that led me to open them in the first place.

    omg, i totally get you.

  • LOL. Forgot about this, woke up, tried to watch a youtube video and couldn't figure out #1 why my computer wasn't making any sound and #2 why the video sounded all effed up when I turned the speakers back on.

As it turns out, the musically inclined tab was the one I got the picture of my favorite pens from for angela's thread below.

  • LOL! Let's be friends. I play the tab game all the time. I have a tab open on my laptop from last weekend of a dress someone found for me. And a tab open on my iPad from several weeks ago that I have no interest in closing any time soon.
