2 Yr Old Car Seat On Plane
What are you thoughts on bringing a car seat for a two year old for a plane trip? We always bought him a seat before he was 2, but now I am told it is not mandatory. We are going to be lugging around enough stuff which will complicate matters, and we do not need the car seat for transportation for where we are going. What are your thoughts?
Re: 2 Yr Old Car Seat On Plane
My thoughts are no. That puts him in prime seat in front of him kicking.
We use a CARES harness.

1000% agree. Don't do it, get the CARES
So Tasty, So Yummy
This, we borrowed CARES from a friend and it didn't work with DS. He is crazy tall and I still felt the fit was off. he figured out how to work around the harness if you will. If you child is not going to mess with buckles then it is a good option.

Yeah, the CARES is only secured by the aeroplane seat belt, so he will be able to undo it if he wants to. It also has nothing between their legs, so they can slip out of the bottom of it.
And some kids don't. Our son has flown with it many many times, dOmestic and international and has never undone the belt or slipped out. I prefer the risk than having him kick the seat in front of him for 9 hours in a car seat. Depends on the child
We took DD on the plane in her car seat when she was 2 (exactly), she could just barely reach the seat in front of her (she is 33 inches) with her feet and didn't kick. She was happy in her car seat and slept a lot of the flight. Not might work as well when she is taller.....
The tray table is more of a hassle for mine than kicking the seat. I just introduce them to the person in front and that seems to do the trick in terms of them understanding why they can't.
