Aw: Half Marathon PR

2:01:32, a PR by over 13 min.  The course was crazy hilly (and a little short according to my Garmin, but who is counting), which made me push harder on the downhills because I new I had to go back up eventually.

My DH was awesome and ran most of the course to see me a total of 4 times.  I know he wanted to be out there racing, but this was a female only event.Smile

Btw, Joan Benoit Samuelson ran an unofficial time of 1:25:39 at 54, amazing!

  • I PRd too!  My goodness that course was hilly!  We couldn't have asked for better weather though.  I think it was well done for an inaugural race, I really enjoyed it.

That's crazy about Joan's time, she's amazing!  Did you get to see her?  I didn't :(

    Congrats on your huge PR!

I was pretty surprised at how well the race was organized.  My only complaint was it was so far outside of the city.  We actually got a hotel room (yay, free marriott nights) the night before so we didn't have to drive 4 hrs between packet pickup and the race.

I didn't get to meet Joan either :(

    Congrats on your PR too!

I stayed with a friend who literally lives 5 minutes from the start, that was pretty sweet :)

Just out of curiosity, how short was the race according to your Garmin?

  • Congrats on your PRs!

    12.9, close enough.
