Weekend long workout post
What is everyone doing for their long workout this weekend?
I'm about to head out on a 5-ish mile run. Once I get back, DH and I are taking our bikes out for a ride! Does that count as a brick workout?
It won't be a super serious ride, DH got a new bike so we're just going for a little ride around the neighborhood.
Re: Weekend long workout post
I had my 4 mile run (1 week prior to my half). It feels great to taper. I did hills. It was great to feel the difference in my body from the first time I tackled this hill. No burning leg muscles!
Ran a trail half marathon yesterday.
Today, rest.
Ten miles yesterday. On the treadmill.
That was a total test of will, but the rain was cold, and my choices were either to subject the toddler to cold nasty rain in the jogging stroller (no way) or use the treadmill and take advantage of the Y's nursery. So treadmill it was.
Today I did an easy two just to flush out the legs and my mind - felt great.
Yesterday was my 20 mile run! Went 20.50 in 3:45, which is about an 11 min/mile pace. My 20 mile run last year was at a 12 min/mile pace, so I really think I'll get a decent PR at my marathon on May 19!
The run felt good in general. I had sore quads from the start, but I don't feel like they slowed me down too much. The weather was crappy though. Low 40's, sprinkles, and 25 mph winds. It wasn't too bad, but I was glad to be done and take a hot shower at the end!
This topped off a week of 51 miles, which is a personal best for me! I really think the higher mileage weeks help my long runs. I haven't had a bad long run this training cycle, which I think is pretty awesome! I can't believe it's taper time already :-)
Today I'm heading to the gun to run a few easy miles to shake things out and then relax. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, ladies!

Yesterday I ran 3.7 miles and felt great. Today DH and I are going mountain biking. I have not been on a mountain bike since October so I am little nervous heading out. This will be my 6th time ever on a mountain bike and I really enjoy it.
Run went great! 5.26 miles through the neighborhood, it hadn't gotten hot yet but it was pretty humid. I did a hot yoga class yesterday but thankfully my legs were not sore today.
DH got called to campus (electrical engineering senior design project), so the bike ride is delayed. Maybe this afternoon but I fear it will be too hot!

I did a three-hour ride yesterday. It was so windy that I only got 45 miles in!
Today, I'll run about 7 or 8 miles.
My DH is out of town this weekend, so I did my long workouts during the week. 8 mile run on Weds, and my first brick on Thurs (60 min bike, 30 min run).
Yesterday I just did body pump & today I'm resting
2012 Races: 3/18 Shamrock Shuffle 5k; 4/14 E.R. Race for Autism 5k (PR! 25:58); 6/9 Riudoso Sprint Triathlon; 6/24 Chunky Monkey 10K; 7/29 Cochiti Lake Olympic Triathlon; 9/16 Chips & Salsa 1/2 Marathon; 10/21 Duke City 1/2 Marathon; 12/2 Rock & Roll 1/2 Marathon in Vegas!
Today is going to be a 13k run (sorry I'm canadian, I only do kms lol) for the HM training that I'm just starting. I'm actually looking forward to it- I'm just about done an audiobook I listened to all throughout my 10k training.
I've done 13k before, but nothing more than 13.5 which makes me a little nervous for what is to come.
I did my first long run since recovering from my knee injury (and being out for 3 months). It was the fastest run I've had since I have been back and I felt GREAT after, like I could easily have done another 4 or 5 miles. This was reassuring because I have a half in the beginning of May and was starting to think I wouldn't be ale to handle it. But I am feeling pretty confident now.
Today DH and I went on a two hour bike ride. Not fast, we stopped a lot, but it was good and had some nice hills.
Yesterday I was going to do my long run (7 miles) but it started raining so I went to the gym with DH and did NROLFW workout B - stage one (The dead lifts kill my butt!) and 45 minutes on the SM.
Today - 3.1 mile walk for March of DIme in the morning and I did my 7 mile run this afternoon.
