Getting the most bang for my buck with workouts...

Hi there,

I am down to my 'goal' weight which I have been able to achieve through tweaking my eating habits, but after having two kids I need to tone up certain areas (stomach and thighs especially...). I am able to carve out 2 60-min sessions per week at the gym and want to be able to make the most out of these workouts. I am looking for ideas on how to balance cardio time (usually use elliptical) vs. weights and where to focus. Any ideas would be very helpful!

Thanks so much, Karen

Re: Getting the most bang for my buck with workouts...

  • Are those 2 60 min sessions your time for cardio and then weights? Or are those sessions not including your normal cardio routine? If it is the former then I would recommend finding a circuit training routine that would include cardio in it. If the latter, I would say to start New Rules of Lifting for Women (book is available on Amazon, etc.).

  • It is my total time for a workout. Can you recommend where I would look into a circuit routine? I will be in a gym and will have access to all of the free weights and nautilus equipment. Thank you!
