Re: TSA hate: c&p
WTF?
then they proceeded to take her to a private room, made her pull her pants down, and touched her all up and down her legs and crotch region
I have to Google this hand sawb thing, apparently I missed something.
ETA: I think we need to scratch TSA and start over. I hear more horror stories every day. Granted, people are move likely to complain than rave but at what point do we say enough? Security is important but not at the sacrifice of our rights.
my read shelf:
That's effed up.
On the victim of sexual assault thing, how would one prove they had been a victim in order to avoid a strip search?
When they do the standard pat down, they do a swab of their gloves to double check for chemicals, presumably explosives. It takes a second, the computer beeps OK and they let you proceed.
I'm sure there is a standard procedure somewhere for if you fail the explosive check, but I don't know what it is. I can't imagine that its a strip search, though. Hmm.
OK you all know I hate TSA but can we talk about this?
A pat down is one thing, but this is way above and beyond for a 60-something yo grandmother.
Would it not be way above and beyond for a 20 year old male, particularly one with dark skin?
Uh yeah. And why would the fact that you gave birth to someone that went on to have a child be at all relevant here? I'm pretty sure bin Laden had a few grandkids.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who was getting annoyed at this. I'm not sure why grandma should be treated differently than any other flying passenger. What the TSA did was despicable regardless, but I don't want people getting a pass because they "look" harmless.
Honestly, I think it was just a respecting your elders thing. She probably didn't mean to imply that younger people are more likely up be terrorists.
