Crap, what shoes for rainy England

I had shoes figured out, Merrels and Pumas but I am now expecting rain possibly everyday (yeah, I did not think it out). What shoes do you have that handle rain well?  My sneakers even would not.

  • I had waterproof keens and Merrells.

Ive used spray waterproofing on cloth boots before so I could wear them when it was wet/snowy.  It works for wet sidewalks, wouldn't walk through a field with them.

  • I just wore my super-klassy Uggs. Although that was December. Might be too warm for that.
  • What are you going to be wearing? I live in Seattle where it's almost always wet and I find flat soled leather (or "leather") boots work well with jeans. I only wear my Hunters if it's really pouring because they're not the most comfy thing to walk in and get really hot once you're inside.

  • I wear knee high leather boots pretty much every day here.  I have brown ones and black ones.

  • I've been wearing black Merrell boots for most of this rainy spring in Paris. I only pull out the Hunters if it's monsoon-like, which is just for brief spells. Most of the time, it's just a constant drizzle/light rain and I feel like the Merrells are much more comfy to walk around in than Hunters.

  • I also have been wearing my knee length leather boots every day...I sprayed them a bunch of times so they work well in the rain.

  • Thanks ladies, I am going to try Nordstom. My Merrels are not entirely leather. And my Uggs are cardies.

  • It rained every day when we were there and I was fine with my Pumas.  I did wear SmartWool socks though which helped keep my feet toasty.
  • Littlejen - it's not raining non-stop at this point so you may be okay with your Pumas...especially if you have a day where you'll be in museums or whatnot most of the day.
