Bridemaids Shoes

I am having trouble finding shoes for my bridesmaids. We went to davids bridal today and they didnt have a good selection. I would like my girls shoes to match their dresses which is clover green, and have a little bit of a heal. The girls in my wedding don't wear heals so I need a shoe with a smaller heal. Does anyone know if I can get shoes dyed anywhere other than davids bridal that could match my girls dresses.

Re: Bridemaids Shoes

  • I know payless sells dye-able shoes. Other than that, ordering online may be your best bet. Or maybe try a gold or silver shoe?

ETA: http://www.unforgettablemoments.com has a ton of options and one of their colors is "clover". They have 64 dye colours, and reasonable prices IMO. Hope this helps!

  • How firm are you on that matching clover green shoe? I'd do a metallic over a matching shoe any day. The selection is better, they'd be way more likely to wear the shoe, and matching shoes are a really dated look, IMO.

  • It's "heel", unless you meant to make them "all better".

Most communitities have a shoe store that sells and dyes these sorts of shoes. But I agree, nothing says bridesmaid or old lady quite like a dyed-to-match shoe. Metallics are the usual go-to, but a nude pump or a snappy contrasty color like hot pink would be cute too. I wouldn't dictate heel height or style unless they're wearing a tea length dress.

  • My MOH wore clover green, (BMs were in watermelon) and I told them to pick any shoe they wanted. I wouldn't do a matching shoe unless they wanted. It'll also be hard to match the color unless you use Davids.
  • I would let them pick out their own nude or metallic shoe. They will never wear dyed to match shoes again and this way they can buy something with a heel hight they are comfortable in, or a flat sandal of they don't like heels. I did this at my wedding at all of their shoes looked great and complimented each other well and they were all comfortable since they chose them.

I dont even remember what my girls wore..lol. I just told them to wear whatever. We had long gowns so it didn't really matter.

  • My BMs also got to choose their own shoe and they had short dresses.  I just asked that they wore some type of gold shoe.  Some already owned some, some bought nice heels they could rewear and others went to Payless and spent $10.  That way it fit in their own budgets and were comfortable for them.

Unless you're paying for the shoes; I'd suggest choosing a color and letting them pick out what they like.  And if you are paying for their shoes, I would reconsider and save your money.  It's really not that big of a deal.  You can barely tell:

  • i'm still slightly bitter about having to buy a pair of horribly uncomfortable shoes to wear under a floor-length gown for a friend's wedding. they were ugly, they were awful on, and NO ONE COULD SEE THEM.

let your girls pick their own shoes...or buy the ones you want for them. i had my BMs wear lime green pumps, and i knew they might not wear them again...so i bought them. plus flip-flops for the reception.
