Spinning with Angela tonight! (and a Q)
I'm so excited to go take my first spinning class with the one and only MissAngela tonight! Hooray!
That said, I have no idea what to bring. Help!

Re: Spinning with Angela tonight! (and a Q)
Water bottle. Probably at least 20oz. My first couple classes I actually had to get up in the middle of class and go refill, so bigger is better, IMO.
Hand towel (for sweat wiping).
Shoes with the firmest sole you can come up with. Running shoes are NOT great for spinning because they flex in the wrong place and your legs/feet can cramp up pretty badly. So if you have cross-trainers, that would be better.
Depending on your hairstyle, you may want a sweatband, bobby pins, ponytail holder, or hat. Loose hair can become annoying very quickly in spin. I usually do a braid, fold the braid in half and tie it up (so it's not touching the back of my neck), and then bobby pin anything short. A lot of women in my class wear hats or visors.
I do! I'll make sure to bring those. Thanks!

Hmm... All I have is running shoes and my clipless cycling shoes, but I don't know if they are the right kind of cleat. I was planning on bringing them just in case. Otherwise, I think I'll have to power through with the running shoes. Never thought of that!
Thanks!

Most gyms use SPD cleats, FWIW.
I obviously am still too new to the whole H&F thing.
I read the word "spinning", and my brain still equates it to "wool and spinning wheel" instead of "bike and workout".
Have fun!
I thought they took SPDs. Good to know for sure. Now I just wish I could remember which kind I have (I'm still very new to cycling).

Remember that there are two types of SPD pedals...road and mountain. The cleats are not cross compatible. ie, you can't use Road SPD cleats with mountain bike pedals and vice versa.
