Dr. Mortimer protected his brother when realizing he was the killer. Was it the right thing to do? What would you do if you were in his situation?
I wouldn't say it was the "right" thing to do but I do believe it would be a hard situation to be put in. I feel that I would feel as though I have an obligation to protect my brother but at the same time I would be in conflict with myself for knowing that he was murdering people. I think it would be a hard decision but in the end I would have to turn him in because I would not be able to live with myself if I didn't.

No. He aided a murderer. There are few things that are unforgivable in my book and murder is one of them. If one of my loved ones murdered someone, I would have to do something about it. Mainly because I believe that if they are capable of doing such a thing, then they aren't the person I thought they were. I honestly can't think of a circumstance where I could justify helping someone who had killed another person in anything but self defense.
* I say this as someone who has never been in such a situation, but I'm fairly confident that my reaction would be this.
