Vaccination Certificates?

Anyone know if a vaccine is "recommended" by a country if they require proof of vaccination?

We're traveling to Italy, Israel, Egypt & Greece and there is a list of vaccines that are recommended, but no where on the CDC website does it say if you need to provide any type of proof of vaccination. TIA.

    Australia for example requires a yellow fever certificate if you have been in Africa, South or Central America and I think the Caribbean less than 6 days ago, so we just carry around our vacination cards now when we travel. Do the individual country website/consulate sites have any info?

    What vaccines do you need for Italy and Greece? Actually I am surprised you need vaccines for any of them.

    We're finding out that they all recommend the routine adult vaccines (which I had no clue existed) and Hep B for Italy/Greece. So far we haven't found any "required" vaccines, I'm more curious about the recommended ones. We're going to speak with our PCP about it, just figured couldn't hurt to see if anyone else has run into it.

    No country will deny you entry if you haven't updated your dtap! Maybe they should though :)

    Seriously the only time you need to  show proof of vaccination is for required vaccines and usually yellow fever is the only one and it is unusual for anyone to check for your yellow card. I think in more than a decade of travel to countries that require it someone has asked for my card twice.

    Seriously though, you should get boosters of childhood vaccines even if you never leave the US!

    Yeah, you will be fine. The only thing I have ever had to show proof of vaccination for was yellow fever and it wasn't for any of those countries.

    I've only had to show proof of yellow fever and had never had issues in Europe.
