How do you mop your floors?

Other than cleaning them on your hands and knees how do you mops your floors?

I need a good way to clean them without getting down on the floor all the time.

I have a swifter wet jet but I only use that to spot clean, if something gets spilled or the dog drags something in.

do you use a mop? If so what kind?

Re: How do you mop your floors?

  • I have a steam mop that I use once a week or as needed. It's a Shark I think.

  • A swiffer with murphy oil soap on wood, and swiffer by itself on linoleum. (our supersmall bathroom).

  • A) if you're using the Swiffer solution, stop now, there was a study I read last week that said it caused cancer in animals (will find for you later but I'm on my phone).

    B) I use a Rubbermaid Reveal mop with Method Clementine Floor and Hard Surface cleaner.  it's just like a Swiffer but you can put your own cleaner in it, so it is pet and baby safe. Bottles are refillable and the microfiber pad is washable. Also makes MUCH cleaner floors than the Swiffer ever got.

I heard this also, this is another reason I was looking for a better way to mop

  • I make Guy do it.
  • I hate mops....  I used to swiffer until my cats paws started to get irritated.  Now I do it the old fashioned way.... on my hands and knees.

This. It always seem like mops and brooms just pushes everything around. I usually sweep and then vacuum to get the stragglers and then use a bucket and sponge. We do have a libman wonder mop that I bought because J said if we had a mop, he would mop...it is still in it packaging.

  • Rarely, Chris does it, and we still use a Swiffer.
