Peeks in.... Can I hang out here?

I've been around TN for years, for some reason never ventured onto this board very often.  So, quick intro...

Was married to XH for 7.5 years, he is ADNavy, so I am pretty familiar with the military 'ropes'.  We have two children, 8 and almost 3, and I still live where he is stationed so the kids can be close to their dad.  (Plus, I'm kind of a beach/sun junkie) Stick out tongue

I have been in a committed relationship with E for over a year, and he is ADAF. Definitely didn't plan on falling for another military guy, but that's a chance you take when living in a small town with a high concentration of military I suppose. We are currently LD, but see each other nearly every weekend. He's close to retirement (hooray!) and working on getting orders up here for his last few years in. The distance sucks, but we make it work pretty well if I do say so myself.

And to the few I already 'know' on here... HI!

Re: Peeks in.... Can I hang out here?

  • Sure, come hang out! Welcome.

I'm Beans, DH is ADAF, although working with the Army right now. I am a MA level therapist, although am leaving to OH in the fall to get my PsyD. DH will be able to follow when he is done here.

    We have a dog, William

  • Congrats on pursuing your PsyD! I'm originally from the midwest, and hope to move back someday to be near my family again.

Except when I'm on the beach or in a boat... then I'm torn.  lol

  • Hiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was wondering if you were ever going to venture over here!

I love this board! I spend more time here than ML any more really, although it's been kind of slow here lately!

Glad you decided to come hang out!

  • Hi and welcome! I'm Smiles, and I used to post more frequently back in the day, but since having my daughter, I have been more busy with her.

DH is ADAF and we live in Las Vegas, NV. Our daughter is 16 months old and is truly the biggest joy in our lives! She just kills me with cuteness!

What are some fun things you like to do for yourself?

That is such a fun age... They grow up wayyyyyyyyy too quickly. I can't believe I will have a third grader next year! Gah!

I love going to the beach, boating... anything outdoors.  I've also been going to some art classes on nights that XH has the kids, and I'm really enjoying that. :)

I went to Vegas once when I was 19... the only thing I remember is we kept getting kicked out of the casinos for trying to play the slots.  Ahhh, memories.

  • Welcome!
I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.
  • I'm Fancy, married to a guy in the AF (AD).  We're currently stationed in CO, but we're PCSing to NC in 4 weeks.  We have 13 month old b/g twins and a hound dog.

    Welcome!

There are quite a few Navy bases in the Panhandle.  I live by one of them, not the one in Fort Walton.  Wink

  • Hi and Welcome to the Board! I am Jenna and DH is AD AF.  We live in Wyoming right now, but we're moving to New Jersey this summer.

We don't have kids, but have 2 dogs that keep us super busy.

Lol, I'm sorry, I was thinking of the AFB in Ft. Walton. There's a couple more besides the Santa Rosa area one.  :)

  • Holler! I'm a tasty sandwich, DH and I are both Army National Guard(7 years for me, 11 for him) and I've spent the last 5 active. We just moved from IL to PA for DH to take a contractor job and I just finished my first few weeks as a shift at Starbucks(love it)!  No kids, just a cat who thinks he's a child/dog.

Welcome! I'm new here so I feel a bit strange welcoming you to the board that I am still getting familiar with; but welcome nonetheless!

H is ADAF and I am currently finishing my MA in clinical mental health counseling (in 5 weeks eeeek!). We have a yorkie named Charlie and if you browse any previous posts you'll see we will be learning in just a few short days where H's new PCS will be- yay!

Again, Hi, and welcome : )

  • Hey, I recognize you from ML. My H is AD USMC and we're stationed at Camp Pendleton.
