NCR: Prayer Request PLEASE!
I have an appointment Wed. to have an injection in my spine. They are doing it to see if the pain in my leg goes away for 2-3 hours. If so then they know the bone that has grown into my nerve is causing the issues.
No matter the outcome I am a nervous wreck. If I get no relief I will just have to live my life the way I am. Extreme chronic pain in my left leg, back not healing from surgery 4, and on pain medicine (want off them today!)
If the pain goes away they can do surgery to cut down the bone...PROBABLY. Since I have had 4 majorly intense back surgeries it is very dangerous to go in again. They don't even know what they would do. My doctor will research options if that happens. He is great about not giving up and does a lot of cutting edge things so I am in good hands but a nervous wreck.
I don't see how I can keep living my whole life with this pain and restrictions. On the other hand I don't know when I could do surgery or how we would pay for it right now since this has already had me out of work for so long. I am just finishing student teaching and need a job in the fall.
I know God will take care of me but sometimes it is hard to see just how this could be part of his plan. My faith, family, and friends have gotten me through 8 years of this type of news and I know they will again, but I can use all the help and peace of mind I can get right now.

I'm so sorry. I just said a prayer for you and will do so again. Have you considered getting a pain pump implanted in your lower back? Also, have you tried taking Gabapentin? It is for pain but isn't a typical pain pill like morphine or vicodin or one of those. It blocks the nerves from sending the pain message to your brain.
I know how hard it is to understand why these things happen, and wonder why this is part of God's plan, but you just have to keep the faith. If you had seen me 12 years ago.... What a nightmare. I can look back now and understand why I went through what I did. It made me a better, more compassionate person, a better wife, a better friend, a better sister, a better daughter. I learned a lot of lessons that made me into who I am today.
Hang in there and keep the faith. Sometimes prayer is the only thing that helps calm the mind and give relief. Just now, another prayer for you, praying for your healing. Weird, but I get this feeling that this prayer will send you some relief. Not by me, but from Him. I wish you the best, and hugs to you.

I appreciate all the responses and support! It makes me feel so blessed. They found that the bone growth into my nerve is the cause of my leg pain. Now I have to wait for the doctor to figure out what he can do.
I am avoiding a pain pump because they addictive and have a lot of side effects and I am only 26. We want to save that because as I grow older more aches and pains will naturally come on top of this and I want options then. I will definitely look into the other one though.
Just knowing you are following is comforting. You do not have to reply but I appreciate the thoughts!
Sorry I don't have names for the specific responses. I also have memory issues and can't remember them from one screen to the next.
God is definitely a huge part of my peace in life though I DO have some angry moments. A lot of other things are falling into place making life a positive overall thing right now. Hopefully I get a teaching job when I finish student teacher on May 18! We NEED money lol. Other than that I am very grateful for everything and everyone in my life right now. I do have a special perspective of life that most people never get before they die, and it makes me cherish every moment good and bad!
I can't say thank you enough! Knowing there are prayers out there really helps my heart. Even if you don't do prayer knowing you care and are supporting me helps just as much!
