DD is doing Girls on the Run with her school and they are doing a practice 5K today. They want to make it as similar to a real race as possible so the girls know what to expect at the real 5K. I am in charge of bringing bagels as part of the post race food. Now, my totally random question-it's ususally just plain bagels, not cream cheese, correct? I picked up the bagels this morning and it just now occurred to me that I don't have any cream cheese. I don't think they typically have it after races, but I rarely pay attention to the post race food. I'm generally not hungry immediately after running so I've never really noticed the food.
Re: Really random post race food question
Sadly, yes. It's usually plain, cold, untoasted, un-schmeared bagels. Which are gross, especially for someone who just finished a race.
Orange slices, granola bars, juice boxes, and chocolate milk are all much better IMO.

I think I've only gotten post race cream cheese once.
I was actually thinking about the lack of fixins for the bagels at my last race. at least give a girl some peanut butter or something. who wants to eat a plain dry bagel? how did this start?
I would kill for cream cheese after the race, but I always just assumed it was because they didn't want to mess with knives and such? Do they sell tubes of cream cheese (like mustard)? That would be ideal.
And now I am hungry for a bagel and cream cheese!

Oooh, yes - chocolate milk is the best!
I don't get the dry bagel thing, either. So unappetizing.
