We closed with a little "excitement" beforehand.

We closed yesterday afternoon!  Yay!!

What did not go smoothly was the earlier part of the day.  Our walk through was supposed to be at 12:30.  I got a call from DH at 12:15 telling me he had just been rear ended as he was turning into my parents neighborhood (they were watching DS during closing) and his car is totaled.  I couldn't even process that this was happening and he said his first thought was not "I'm going to die" as he watched the car fly at him at 45 mph while he was slowing to turn but "No!  I have to close!".  LOL!

He's fine, the car is not, and the teenage driver is not going to be when she has to email her deployed high ranking Navy officer father and tell him that she was texting and rear ended another Navy officer.

So, we got a house and probably a new car yesterday.  That put a damper on the closing excitement, but the important thing is that DH is ok.  Our walk through and closing each got pushed back by about an hour, but everyone was very understanding.
