Do you host your own blog or use a free blogging service?

If you host your own blog, what web host do you use? Are you happy with their service?

I'm working on starting my first blog, and would really love any suggestions based on your experiences. Thanks in advance!

I use Blogger because it's simple. My blog is uncomplicated...just pictures, some text and links, so it works for me. ;-)

I'm in the process of switching over to blogger (from tumblr) and it's a pain in the butt, but that's just because of the switch over. Blogger is really easy to use though, and you have way more options than you have on tumblr. I will buy my domain name through them (they make it wayyy easy).

I use wordpress. I like it better than blogger because it doesn't have all the extra "things" floating around it like blogger does.

Mine is self hosted on dreamhost and has a Wordpress template for ease of use. I own the preppyhousewife domain, and through dreamhost I have @preppyhousewife web mail and other features that make my blog easier to run.

This, except I'm on GoDaddy. I'm planning to switch to Dreamhost though. Either way, I like being on the self-hosted side of Wordpress.

I started my blog on Wordpress and now I've switched to blogger. Now that my blog is getting more readers I plan on buying the domain. I'm not that graphically design inclined, so having blogger makes it easy peasy! Cant wait to check out your blog!

We use wordpress and I believe we use Bluehost for the server. I'm not a fan of blogger personally.
