Fed Ex Driver- 0 Me-1
You'd think with all the bad press delivery companies have been getting lately from customers catching them on camera mishandling their packages they'd be on their toes. Remember back around Christmas the guy from Fed Ex tossed a box containing a computer monitor over a fence??
Anyhow... This morning I'm sitting on the couch in my barely there night gown when I see the Fed Ex truck pull up from our very large bay window. I've ordered several things over the weekend so I figured the guy would just drop some packages off at the door. I hear him come up on the porch open the screen door close it and leave. Meanwhile I have the windows open the TV is on and the dog is going psycho. The truck pulls away and I go to retrieve the package. There isn't anything there!!!!!! Instead there is a sorry we missed you door tag saying he had a package I had to sign for (B's new cell phone).
I'm PISSED!!!!!!!!!! This delivering guy didn't even try to knock on the door or ring the door bell. I tested the doorbell and it definitely works. To make it better the door tag said this was their second attempt to deliver the package but they didn't even leave a door tag yesterday!! If there was a door tag from yesterday I would have either signed it and left it or I would have opened the door before he had a chance to run away.
I called B to vent and he in turn called his friend who works as a Fed Ex driver. He gave me their supervisors number. The supervisor was very apologetic and promised to have the phone delivered to our house this afternoon so I don't have to go pick it up. Take that lazy driver!! BTW I totally suspected that this has happened to me before but I was upstairs instead of sitting in the couch right next to the front door so I couldn't be sure he didn't knock.

Ugh that is so annoying! that has happened to me a few times too. I have more trouble here with UPS though.
A few years back we used Airborne Express at the office - we had about 10 things that needed to go out that night overnight. The lazy driver just drove by the office, never came in and drove off. When I called AE to complain, they said that drive came into the office, spoke to Joe and confirm no packages were going out. Umm, there was no Joe at the office! LIAR!
Fedex did that recently here too. In delivering my new Nano. I was home the whole time and he never buzzed our apartment. There was no tag left for the "1st attempt" or the 2nd. I only knew because I tracked the package online. I called and they told me to go to their facility. I would have been pissed even more if it had gotten returned.
I wonder if it is a "trick" of theirs to avoid having to make as many attempts/stops.
I've never had any problems when stuff comes UPS.

What I don't get is that he had to get out of the truck with the package in his hand on the off chance that I answered the door just to leave me the door tag anyhow. So why not knock already. Unless the sound of my dog going psycho made him run off in which case put your big boy pants on and deal with it. Your a delivery person you are going to come in contact with big scary dogs.
Recently UPS delivered a package to my house the didn't belong to us. It was addressed to 32 appleseed rd and we are 5132 apple tree rd (made up address FYI). The house it should be delivered to is around the corner from me. I had the worse time getting them to pick the package back up. They called me once to say they already picked it up and I was like um no you didn't it's in my hands now. So they said they would call the driver. They called me back a second time to say the driver said she just left your house with it and I told them well she is a big fat liar bc IT'S IN MY HANDS. It took them two more phone calls to get it straightened out. Meanwhile I could have taken it to the house myself but it as the point of them acknowledging their error and fixing it.
Our UPS and Fed Ex has been fine around here. It's the USPS at work that's a mess. They'll drop off the mail, but not pick up what's in the out box or they'll take half of it and not reach all the way in. We have 6 suites and we're constantly all getting each other's mail.
The worst is when a package won't fit in the box - they just stick it on top the box. If you don't notice they've come whatever they left can get rained on. They suck.
My brother had the same thing happen to you BMW with UPS and a King Cake. They didn't even try to redeliver - they put that he "refused" the package even though he was there all day and they never came. Why would someone refuse a paid for King Cake? So dumb!
