World's Longest Pregnancy
Re: World's Longest Pregnancy
I changed my name
I think I just don't like 'Maxwell' all together. I like 'Max' for a boy or girl, but all the full names for 'Max' for boys I don't like - Maxwell, Maximillian, etc...
I changed my name
I'm all for naming after family members but seriously, a girl named Maxwell? Save that for a boy. NTM w/ Drew a unisex name you are just asking for this girl to spend her entire life confused.

People don't become confused on their personal sexuality/gender identity because of their names...
ETA: She might spend her life with other people potentially confused... but many names could go either way so thats not too uncommon
I changed my name
That's a big baby! I've been getting ridiculously excited when I hear of people having big, healthy babies.
I like the name far more than overly feminine names.
I in no way, shape or form meant sexual/gender confused, I meant a state of mind as to why she was named the way she was.
ETA: I am not a big fan of unisex names I don't care as long as the person likes their name. I know people that have traditional names and hate them. To each their own. Just NMS.

My dad's name is Fred. I was Frederica in utero and had my parents decided to stick with that name, awful as it is, there would not have been any confusion as to why I had that name. Besides, why should Jessica (a woman with a male middle name) save that name for a boy that she may never have? Maybe she's gotten so much ridicule during this pregnancy that she has no intention of doing it again.
Maxwell is her FFIL's middle name. Drew the baby's middle name is her Mother's Middle Name.
Sigh let me try again to make this as clear as possible. I get naming children after family- it's done every day. I know she will know where the name comes from but if it were me I would seriously question/wonder/be confused as to why I, as a girl, was named after a Male family member. (Call me what you want).
You are right that she may not have any more children. In the end my opinion is still that it's odd. People do odd stuff all the time. I'm not going to loose any sleep over it, she can do whatever she wants it's just NMS.
FTR I don't think it makes her a horrible person or the worst thing in the world.

I guess any potential confusion could be cleared up pretty easily? Like "hey mom/dad why did you name me a boy's name?" parents- "here is the reason" ... confusion over...? What else is there to be confused about?
I mean, they may not *like* it, but that's not the same as confused. I know plenty of people who dont like their names, I used to be one of them when I was a kid.
IDK, with all the awful names floating around there, and especially in Hollywood, I can't really see this as all that bad. I actually would put it on the "favorable" side of the scale.
I changed my name
HUGE baby! Good for her!
I don't like the name, but I like the nn "Maxi". I think its cute. Aside from the maxi pad jokes, that is. I read somewhere that's what they were calling her.
Finally! I like her name. But then again I love different names though.
And as far as confusion, it will happen but she will get to the point where she doesn't really care. I get confusion over mine all the time but I love my name and so do my parents so that's all that matters.
I think my favorite confusion story about my name occurred in college. I was getting lunch and handed over my debit card. The guy looked at me and said " Well you go by your middle name right? Your first name is kind weird". I said " No I go by my first and given name and I love it thank you very much". He was SHOCKED and humiliated so it was kinda funny.
I've seen your first name come up on the baby names board!
Sorry, I read that too fast. Reading comprehension isn't a strong suit of mine today.
According to the article: Maxwell is Eric Johnson's middle name, while Drew is Simpson's mother Tina's maiden name.
I was going to say that I don't really care for the name that terribly much for a girl. But then I realized I'm nearly as guilty. She definitely could have done a lot worse in the name department. I do agree that a lot of other people are going to see her name on a piece of paper and make the wrong assumption.
And yes, it's nice that we should be done hearing about it now.
LoL Pregnency Brain or just a Tuesday? I had to read it a couple times as well. When I was typing it out I started with..... Her FI's Father's Middle Name ... then Baby's Grandpa until I said eff it and typed FFIL.

I like the name, actually.
