Jessica Simpson is a mom!
The star and her fianc? Eric Johnson welcomed daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson on May 1, she announced on her website.
"Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson," she wrote. "We are grateful for all the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!"
The baby weighed in at 9 lbs. 13 oz. ? and was 21? inches long.
Simpson announced her pregnancy on Halloween, posting a picture of herself on Twitter dressed as a mummy and cradling her belly. "It's true ? I'm going to be a mummy," she wrote.
In March, she shared the news that a baby girl was on the way as she posed nude on the cover of ELLE. Weeks later, Simpson celebrated her baby shower.
Maxwell is the first child for Simpson, 31, and Johnson, 32, who had a whirlwind romance: The singer and the former NFL player started dating on May 2010 and were engaged six months later.

9lbs, 13oz??? Wow. No wonder she was so big! Isn't she only like 5'2" or something? I'm 5'9" and my 9 lb 1oz pregnancy made me look like a house even though I only gained 30 lbs.
Also, I hate the name, but I guess by celebrity standards, it could be worse.

) I agree about the name, maybe they have a cute nickname planned. Or they'll call her Drew, that's not the best name either but is kind of unisex. What's done is done so happy for her.

Maxwell and Drew are both boy names in my book. I mean, wtf, can we get ONE celebrity to name their kid something normal? I was counting on JS to be the one. Just, wtf.

It's her grandmother's maiden name. I actually really like Drew if it was paired with something really feminine. 2 masculine names like that is just too much.
I'll go against the norm... I like it.
Typically, I like masculine names paired with feminine for a girl, but I think they sound good together. And, I keep picturing this cute little blonde kid with pigtails. So yeah... I like the name.

This was my thought. The poor kid is going to get teased growing up.
maxwell is eric's middle name. i actually hate it LESS because it's a family name, and i think it's nice they're at least doing that versus making something up, or spelling something awful like pilot inspektor.

Well yeah, anything is better tan Pilot Inspektor. lol If Maxwell is Eric's middle name, fine...use Maxwell, or use Drew. Maxwell Drew isn't a family name, they're 2 separate family names. I agree that it's not that bad, but I still think if you're going to go the whole "boy name for a girl" route, you can try and add a little femininity to it somewhere.
