Stockholm Recs? (esp nightlife)
A girlfriend and I are headed for a long weekend in Stockholm, but I've been too busy with work to do anything more than book tickets and a hotel. We get in Saturday night, and she really wants to go out to a club that night to dance. Any recs for places to go or things to see while we're there?
Re: Stockholm Recs? (esp nightlife)
The Vasa museum is unique and interesting.

I also suggest getting a smorgasboard at the Grand hotel.
I have no suggestions on clubbing.
That sounds amazeballs.
Damn it, Gilli, I am too old for your clubbing nonsense!
So am I.
I'm dreading it. Last time she dragged me out I ended up punching a guy and having my phone pick-pocketed on the night bus.
So tell me what I should drag her to do instead! (And during the day)
I second the Vasa Museum, and enjoyed walking around/shopping around Gamla Stan (old town). I also found Skansen (Open Air Museum) to be interesting.
PS - I *loved* Oslo! :-)
Yes, the Vasa museum is great.
I also loved the summer castle--you take a short boat trip out in the harbor to it--beautiful grounds--nice place to walk around.
Walking around the old part of the city is fun-lots of shops and restaurants.
I went to a really fun Irish bar in Stockholm--can't remember where though. Oh, also went on a good boat cruise there.
Exhaust her with sightseeing during the day (8 a.m. start time), followed by a boozy dinner just early enough so she's coming down when it's time to head out to the clubs.
Preferably a turkey dinner served with a box of wine.
Touristy but check out the Absolut Ice Bar real quick if you get a chance.
Will you report back after your weekend in Stockholm? We have the opportunity to go in early June. When researching what to do, I'm finding lots of museums, architecture, art... but, not much else.
Newlyweds since 2007
This worked pretty well! Unfortunately, for our third night, we had another friend join us and ended up stopping at a pub on the way home from dinner and staying out really late!
