Not sure who might remember my post, but we are in the process of selling our home and buying a new home (which is a short sale) - and the short sale process has been stressing me out because I am NOT a patient person and didn't realize just how long this process might actually take.
We put in our offer the first week of March (actually, March 9th was the exact date, I think?) The offer was accepted by the buyers within a few days (after some minor tweaking).
And since then we have been waiting.... and waiting.
Just heard from our realtor today that their bank's appraisal has been done (huge step)! We should hear within 10 business days whether the bank will accept our offer or negotiate.
Hoping that what I'm seeing is light at the end of the tunnel and not a freight train! I get the feeling all will be OK, just hoping we have more concrete dates soon. Most ideal would be a closing within the first 2 weeks of June. I know some may think it's a long shot, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
Re: Our short sale buying experience update
Congrats! I give you ladies all props for dealing with the short sell process. We looked at one short sale and realized the wait would just be too much. It also just wants that great of a deal when you got down to having to wait, make repairs, etc.
Best of luck to all on your short sales!
